Impact Statement We rely on volunteers to get the food onto the tables of our clients in the Halifax area. Our volunteers also deliver a smile and personal connection to our clients. You would make a huge difference in the lives of our clients. How much time you can spare for this valuable work depends on you. There are also special projects and fundraisers we hold that may be more suitable for individuals who can't committee on a weekly basis but may have times through the year for short time periods.
Description To deliver meals to our regular weekly clients.
We run 6 routes a daily, to service approximately 140 regular clients.
All routes are in peninsula Halifax.

Volunteers on each route will deliver meals to 13-18 clients per shift in your designated delivery area.

Meals are picked up from Halifax Meals on Wheels, located at 321 Main Ave, Halifax and are packed prior to your arrival. Delivery time is 10 am until 12:30 pm.

Must hold an unrestricted drivers license with a clean driving record.

Volunteers can work either a regular route, or as a substitution driver. Please indicate your availability and preference when responding
Training Details One hour training with the volunteer coordinator, followed by 1-2 trips out with an experienced volunteer.
Working Conditions Must have a valid drivers license.
Approximately 2-3 hour time commitment.
Monday to Thursday, 10 am-12:30 pm.
Must be comfortable interacting with the elderly and clients with physical and mental health conditions.
