| Description | The Hosts welcome newcomers and help them find the household items they need; or provide them with information about services and programs in the community. They also help unpack and display household items (furniture, kitchen utensils etc); help newcomers make arrangements for delivery; and generally contribute to a welcoming and safe place for newcomers to start to build a new home in Nova Scotia. |
| Training Details | Training is provided on a monthly basis; and on-site support and mentoring is available from experienced volunteers. Written policies and processes are available. |
| Working Conditions | There are normally 4 - 5 Hosts on-site working as a team. We are currently supporting displaced people from 8 countries (Ukraine, Sudan, Gaza and West Bank, Morocco, Turkey, Syria, Afghanistan and Israel so creativity and patience around communications; and respectful cultural awareness is required. There is some lifting done on-site but not necessary if this is a challenge. |

| Time Detail | Our location at 2739 Agricola St. is open 10am - 3pm on Tuesday and Saturday.Shifts are normally for 5 hours but flexibility is available. |
