Alice House
Established in 1982, Alice House has been a pioneering force in Canada, serving as the second project of its kind in the nation. We provide second-stage safe housing, support services, and counselling for women and their children fleeing intimate partner violence. We offer 18 units, prioritizing resident safety with security measures like cameras, alarms, and kick-proof doors while allowing them to build credit and landlord history. We are acutely aware of the profound challenges faced by folks who have endured violence in their homes. Our wrap-around services include counselling for women and children, a food security program, an economic independence program, prevention education, and domestic violence court support. Our holistic trauma-informed approach addresses the multifaceted effects of violence, aiming to break the cycle of family violence and empowering survivors to heal and rebuild their lives with dignity.
