Food insecurity is a growing challenge in HRM. Halifax Meals on Wheels has started a new initiative that will get food directly into the hands of people who need it most. Beginning on Friday, April 5th Halifax Meals on Wheels will begin delivering 40-50 meals weekly to various community center's, parent resource center's, un-housed encampments, schools, or anyplace else there may be a need. Together we can make a difference in helping offset the growing need for food security! |
| Description |
Meals on Wheels is seeking a dedicated Friday driver delivery person. The position entails working with a Halifax Meals on Wheels staff person to pick up 40-50 meals from our current meal supplier located in Bayers Rd Shopping Centre. The meals will then be delivered to 3 or 4 locations each week according to a pre-determined schedule. The time commitment needed is roughly 2 hours, from 11 am to 1 pm each Friday. |
| Training Details | You will work in tandem with the Project Coordinator, or Assistant Coordinator. There is no specific training required, only a desire to make a difference in people's lives! |
| Working Conditions |
The position entails all season city driving and some lifting and carrying of meals. Unrestricted Drivers License Required. |
