Description |
Candidates for the KVRC Board of Directors should have an interest in promoting and supporting volunteerism in Kings County. Personal experience in volunteering and/or in supervising volunteers would be an asset. Other areas of interest include governance, finance, program planning and diversity. Specific responsibilities: -provide leadership in the operation of the KVRC -formulate policy to achieve stated goals -ensure adequate funding to support its activities -select and supervise staff -remain current on issues and trends in volunteerism -evaluate, on a regular basis, services provided -represent the Centre in the community -bring forward relevant community concerns and unmet needs. Training Details | Candidates will have the opportunity to attend a Board meeting before committing to the role. A Board orientation package will be provided. |
Working Conditions |

Time Detail |
This is a working Board, meeting monthly - eight to 10 times a year - September to June. Board meetings are generally 1-2 hours. Director terms are two years. Members are expected to: - prepare for, regularly attend, and participate in Board meetings - serve on a committee and/or contribute to short term project work - follow, like, and share both KVRC and Volunteer Nova Scotia social media content - participate in KVRC programming, ie: Volunteer Symposium |
